Vale Gordon 'Pud' Brooks OAM

Very sad news today. We have just heard of the passing of Gordon 'Pud' Brooks OAM aged 88. Pud was a life member of the club and Cycling SA and coached PACCers Stuart O'Grady and Mike Turtur in their earlier years. Pud was awarded UCI Merit Award in 2010 and recieved an Order of Australia for service to the sport of cycling in South Australia in 2009. Pud helped many people out with cycling equipment, racing advice and much more and his cheeky humour will be missed. Our thoughts are with his wife Bette. RIP Pud.

We will post details of his funeral as they come to hand.

I cherish the many conversations over the years and your assistance with finding bike parts for me. In addition to all the races you helped organise.
Condolences to Bette and family.
RIP Pud.

Very sad news indeed. Pud has played a part in the development and advancement of so many riders over the years that his contribution will be almost impossible to replace.

Like many others I've whiled away plenty of afternoons in his shed participating in various rebuilds and repairs. With Pud's passing, an astounding tome of cycling information and a truly good man have been lost to us all.

My condolences to Bette and the family. My thoughts are with you all tonight.
cheers
Matt..

with the right tools, I can do anything
with the wrong tools, you'll have to give me a minute ... and a new right shoulder ... and a new upper spine ...
