[21 Oct] ROLLER FRENZY IV+FOCUS CX & TRACK SERIES PRESSO

Image
FRIDAY 21 October 7:30pm - 11pm @ Townies Bar, Edwardstown Oval (East Tce, South Plympton)

Includes series presentations for FOCUS CX & THE CITY, Winter Track as well as the prize draw for the FOCUS AX2 cyclcoross bike.

*This is an event on Facebook but if you want to race the derby, email through your entries*

Everyone in Roller Frenzy gets at least 2 rides bare minimum.
Entries open, email rollers at pacc dot org dot au pay the $10 on the night. Please advise of any scratchings. Note rider numbers are capped, so get your entry in! Bring as many friends as you like, gold coin donation to the host clubs. Fully licensed bar (cheap too), Nandos and Pizza just down the road....

Must have a Cycling Australia membership to enter this 'recreational' event! (or use up you three-rider permit)

What is this Roller Frenzy Derby thing?
It's a social event based around bicycle roller racing. Two sets of rollers are connected to a mechanical dial. As the rollers are driven, the dial rotates – simulating a lap on the track. Head-to-head handicapped races and time trial events test everyone’s abilities and provide a great backdrop to a social night out with a bunch of bicycle nuts. Being a handicap - everyone has a chance to win! Don't think you can ride rollers? Don't worry, bike holders are available! You will learn, fast.

What bike can I ride?
Ride whatever bike you like - singlespeed, fixie, road, CX, MTB, BMX - whatever you got. The only restrictions are on gearing. Juniors must ride their appropriate gear for their age group. Seniors (18+) cannot ride a gear bigger than 50:14 (96.46"). On a road bike that is 53:15. If you're on a road bike or MTB you pick an equivalent gear or less, and stick to it - no changing gears mid event. Cranks must be 165mm, or longer.

This is a social thing, right??
Yes. The bar is licenced and open, there will be a BBQ and feel free to order in a pizza or two. That doesn't mean the derbies won't be fast and furious, and there will be prizes!

OK what does it cost?
For Cycling Australia members - $10
For non-members - sorry you need to be a member!
Spectators also most welcome - a gold coin donation to the host club would be much appreciated! You will get your monies' worth!

How do I enter?
Please email that you want to enter to rollers at pacc.org.au
Entry numbers may be limited. You can also enter (if entries are still open) and pay on the night, before 7pm. But we'd prefer it if you let us know you're entering in advance... and if you can't come, let us know in advance.

Arrgh! I need to know more!
Email rollers(at)pacc.org.au or phone 0413707925

Will you get your face of pain on the winner's hall of fame, and have your name written on the golden rolling pin??

5 more spots. Or if demand exceeds supply, we will run a junior mini comp as there are a few U11's in the mix.
