FOCUS CX & THE CITY II - Race 3 [17 Sep 2011]

Last race in the 'winter' series this Saturday morning. It looks like it will be a perfect picnic day, 27C! LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS ONCE AGAIN - TWO PEOPLE TO HELP WITH SIGN-ON PARTICULARLY

For the first time we will be running a junior race proper for any kids U13 and younger so if you know a kid that can ride a bike, it's their chance to make history.

In the series points:
(points tables and course map can be found here:
http://cx.pacc.org.au/support.html)

CXA: Neil 'Supercoach' Ross is on 37pts, 2pts clear of S2 Race 1 winner Jade 'El Leanio' Lean who suffered a disasterous mechanical in Lap 1 of the last race but clawed back nearly the entire field. Josh 'Crasher' Smith another point back (36pts) has developed into Mr Consistency, but is still hunting for a maiden win which could steal him the series if he cracks the final race. Mark 'Muddy' Chadwick is on 33, James 'Shorty' Hanus on 32.

In CX Womens, Gemma 'G-Train' Kernich is on 38pts just ahead of Samara 'The Rack' Farrell on 36. There's a tie for 3rd place between Silvia 'New Mexican' Schweininger and a fast improving Nicky Crawshaw with all women benefitting from the first series winner Margaret 'The American' Shanafield breaking a collarbone shortly after collecting her prizes at Race 1 and Jess Mundy being called up for the Australian Team. With more women racing CX category this week, including Carly 'Barky' Light on a singlespeed and Debbie Goss moving up from Open category there's a chance some points will be stolen from the series leaders.

In CXB Jeremy 'Casper' Smith has a convincing lead over his father Darryl and Paul Z but any of the top 8 could steal a trophy if someone has a DNF...

In Open Women Julia Massey (40pts) is 3pts clear of junior rider Tessa Manning (37) and Sandra Chambers (32). But with Julia moving up into CX category she won't gain anymore points unless she races twice on Saturday...

A similar conundrum exists in Open Men for Ben 'Plushpile' Plush sitting in equal 2nd, tied with Bryce 'Hopper' Dolman on 36 points - only 2pts back on Sam 'un poilu' England. Adam Cantwell and S2 R1 Winner Pat Marcucci are ready to break into the top 3 in the last race.

See all the points on the events page: http://cx.pacc.org.au/support.html

If you want to enter for this Saturday's race (which will include a proper junior race) email cx (at) pacc.org.au to let us know if you're racing. If you want to race more than one category you are welcome to - just let us know (you'll pay double and need two sets of numbers). Check the current start list here - entrants are marked 'X'.

There's a correction in the points above for CXB-Mens.
Billy Belton is only one point behind Jeremy (apologies Billy!)

I am not sure if it is just me but the course map will not load (except for the bottom right corner).

Best of luck in the race all :)
