Winter Track Revival - Series 2

PACC Winter Track – Series 2
13/7, 10/8, 14/9 (the 2nd Wed of the month)

After a good 1st series I’ve taken on suggestions to mix up the racing a bit and see who are the all-rounders cyclists at the track; enter
The Omnium Series

Over the 3 WEDNESDAY nights a Grade based omnium will be contested: F 200s, Elimination, Scratch and points, (one most nights) in addition to the heart starter, scratch and Derby/Keirin Surprise. Grades will be A-C and Women’s (if numbers warrant); 4 races a night making it short, sharp and shiny.

Graeme Zucker has been kind enough to allow the track series to run once a month during his endurance training :hello2: . Bearing in mind there are many riders who come out a Wed to get in some good K’s at the track, the event distances will reflect the different level between the grades, A-C and Women’s – Come on’ Saturday Women you know you want to and its good practise for Oct.

Points:
entry (10) and points for 1st-last place (10-1 as required)

Program:
Heart Starter
Surprise
Omnium Event (1 or 2)
Scratch

Details:
Sign on at 6.15 for a 6.45 start

(Note as of 12th July) ***"Those U17 wanting to race 'up' in the PACC winter series must speak to their coach/Ian Pedler, who will then message me and i will then apply to CSA to see if the U17 rider can race up"***

Remember: Vollee's always welcome and needed (we will need timers on the 1st night) and get yous free entry (and if you give up a night's racing you still get the entry points

Yes 2 more weeks of track, then we are moving to Vic Park for some road bunch and crit skills (hopefully cyclocross skills as well) and some workshop sessions if the weather packs it in.

These will all run from the new improved time of 2-4pm and the cost will be $10.00 per session.

We then move back to the track on the 10/9/2011.

Hope you are able to grab some down time and come out.

See you Sat

An omnium is cycling's equivalent of a decathlon, you get points for each event depending on where you came in the events that make it up.
As for what is a heart starter, or a points race, or an elimination, try reading this http://www.sa.cycling.org.au/?ID=41319

I am glad that I am not going 50 laps with a sprint every 5 laps - that is a bit too often for such a long race IMHO!

the ideal number of bikes is one more than you currently have

It's great to see some new riders considering racing this series, I hope the more seasoned riders are about to support and encourage them as PACC does so well.

We are a week out for the 1st night - im sure the time will fly. Im still in need of Vollees for the night as follows

Sign on - Amieebear! gettingback-on-track
Judge/timers
Judge/Timers
lap counter/bell ringer - Hopper-(Bryce) thanks!
Clerk of Course - Dallas Zimmer

Comm - Will 'alwaysonthewatch' Lyons
Commentator - Graeme 'lovesachat' Zucker

If you or a friend are able to help out that'd be great - you get free entry and/or entry points of Ominum Series
See you next week

Under 17

Hi Lee-Anne,

I noticed the post about Under 17's being able to ride has been removed, does this mean that they can't ride in this series?

Cheers
