I'm curious about the contents of the paper. Anyone got a Science subscription? http://www.sciencemag.org/content/332/6027/339.abstract

This is not new research, similar proof of concept stuff was done 40 years ago.

cool, i am surprised they ignore counter steering...... sort of seems importantant to me that the whole process turns on its head at 35-40kmh.

I think that is because that certainly relies on gyroscopic force to work :-)
Front wheel doesn't even need to be on the ground to turn while counter steering! Ask any Moto GP rider :cool:
